Closure Update

Hello St. Gregory the Great Parents,

At this point we remain closed until further notice.  We are waiting on updates from Region of Waterloo Public Health regarding re-opening.  In the meantime continue to connect with your child’s teacher to continue with learning tasks.

Be Well

Dear Waterloo Catholic Community –

As we approach the end of February, we sincerely hope that this letter finds you and your family well.  Today’s letter brings a number of very important updates that are important to continuing to provide safe, welcoming learning environments for all our Waterloo Catholic staff and students.  Please take the time to read each of these updates, and do not hesitate to reach out to your local school if there are items for which you require further information or clarification.

On Wednesday, February 17th the Minister of Education, informed by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, informed all school boards that there was an enhancement that would be adopted in terms of both screening and isolation guidance, as well as testing opportunities.  Please see below for these and other updates.

School Closure and COVID Update

Dear St Gregory’s Families and Staff currently attending In-School Instruction –

We hope this letter finds you and your family well.   As you may be aware, we have a member of our St Gregory’s community that has tested positive for COVID-19.

Per our usual protocol with Waterloo Region Public Health, we have identified all individuals who are potential high-risk contacts.  This process happens with every positive case and Public Health then follows up with the individuals and determines if they are high or low risk contacts.  Any high-risk contacts are then asked to isolate so that there is no risk of any further transmission.  We have been well served by this protocol throughout the fall and winter.
