Important Information

Community Partnerships:

At St. Gregory, we are fortunate to have a number of community partnerships. Some of them are as follows:

Start Reading

St. Gregory’s Strong Start Reading Program helps select children, aged five and six, to learn the names of letters,
the sounds of each letter and some basic sight words. This program is run entirely by volunteers.
All of the training, games and activities are provided by the program. If you would like the opportunity to help a child learn
in a positive, fun way, and are available to donate some of your time during school hours, please contact the school.

PALS

We have an exciting new initiative here at St. Gregory’s school called P.A.L.S.: Playground Activity Leadership for Schools.
A group of eleven students, selected from grades six and seven, have been taught interactive playground games and are now
responsible to teach these games to primary and junior students. Two of the teaching staff supervise our student leaders.
This program teaches new games to students and helps them develop interactive strategies and problem solving skills.
It is an excellent opportunity to foster community and develop leadership skills in our older students. We feel very fortunate
to be part of this project.

Nutrition For Learning and the Rotary Club of Cambridge Sunrise:

Through generous donations from Nutrition for Learning and the Rotary Club of Cambridge Sunrise we have not only
been able to provide our students with a healthy breakfast and afternoon snack five days per week, but we have also
been outfitted with a new kitchen for small student groups and after school groups to use as well as our Breakfast Club..
